Frequently Asked Questions

We offer a wide range of stone worktops, including quartz, granite, quartzite, marble, and ultra-compact surfaces such as Dekton.

Consider factors such as durability, maintenance requirements, aesthetic preferences, and your budget. Quartz is low-maintenance and durable, granite offers natural beauty and durability, marble provides elegance with higher maintenance, and ultra-compact surfaces combine the best of all worlds with high durability and low maintenance.

If you are looking for heat resistant worktops, sintered stone surfaces will be the best option for you. Sintered stone surfaces can withstand large amounts of heat including your hot pans straight from the hob. Granite is also heat resistant however, we recommend avoiding placing hot pans of granite surfaces as it can effect the finish. Avoid adding any hot objects to quartz surfaces as this can cause cracking.

While stone worktops are durable, it’s recommended to use a cutting board to prevent scratches and maintain the sharpness of your knives.

Wipe up spills immediately to prevent staining. For stubborn stains, refer to specific stain removal tips such as using a baking soda paste or mild cleaners.

Yes, especially non-porous surfaces like quartz and ultra-compact surfaces, which are resistant to bacteria and mold. Proper cleaning and maintenance ensure a hygienic surface.

Quartz: Highly stain-resistant due to its non-porous nature.
Granite: Stain-resistant when properly sealed.
Marble: More prone to staining; regular sealing is necessary.
Ultra-Compact Surfaces: Highly stain-resistant and non-porous.

Templating FAQ’s

Why is templating necessary?

Templating ensures that the worktop fits precisely, minimizing gaps and ensuring a seamless installation. It helps avoid errors and adjustments during the installation process, ensuring a perfect fit and optimal use of the stone material.

What should I do to prepare for the templating appointment?

Clear the Area: Ensure that the countertop area is clear of all items, including appliances and decorations.
Have Appliances on Site: Make sure all sinks, hobs, taps, and other appliances that will be installed in the worktop are on site.
Finalize Layout: Confirm the placement of all elements, such as sinks and hobs, to avoid any changes after templating.

What happens during templating?

A technician will visit your home to take precise measurements of your countertop area using specialized tools. They will also note the locations of sinks, hobs, and any other cutouts required. You will have the opportunity to confirm all details and ask any questions.

How long does the templating process take?

The templating process typically takes around 2 hours, depending on the complexity of the project and the size of the countertop area.

Do I need to be present during the templating process?

Yes, it is mandatory that you or your designated decision-maker be present during templating to confirm details and answer any questions the templating technician may have.

Can templating be done before my old countertops are removed?

Yes, templating can be done with your old countertops in place. However, it’s important to ensure that the new countertops will fit properly once the old ones are removed, especially if there are changes to cabinets or walls or issues with the level of the worktops.

What should I expect after the templating is completed?

After templating, the measurements will be used to cut your stone worktop to the exact specifications. You will be contacted to schedule the installation once the fabrication is complete.

How soon after templating can installation occur?

Installation typically occurs 2-3 weeks after templating, depending on the complexity of the project and the availability of the chosen stone material. Our production coordinator will be in touch to give you a fitting date once we have had confirmation from production that your worktops are due to complete.
